The simplest cross-border regime
Czechia is our closest cross-border market geographically and linguistically. Shared border, historically a shared state (until 1993), practically mutually intelligible languages, a legal system from the same base (ABGB → ZGB → post-1948 change). For a Slovak supplier in Czechia, the administrative friction is the lowest of all EU countries.
Our delivered project in CZ is `ecommerce-headless-replatform` in Prague (2025) — a complete e-commerce replatform from a monolithic platform to a Next.js + Medusa.js stack with Algolia search, Stripe payment gateway and Klaviyo marketing. That's a different type of project from most of our industrial portfolio — software-only delivery via the Software/AI pillar without physical installation.
Regulatory framework
Electrical installations in Czechia follow ČSN 33 2000 (Czech implementation of HD 60364) and ČSN 33 1500 for inspections (parallel to the Slovak STN 33 2000 and Decree 508/2009). For building permits the Building Act 283/2021 Sb. applies (from 1 January 2024, previously 183/2006), for occupational safety NV 378/2001 Sb. and Act 309/2006 Sb. (construction site safety).
For specific sectors: ATEX via NV 116/2016 (parallel to Directive 2014/34/EU), pressure equipment via NV 219/2016 (PED 2014/68/EU), lifting via NV 176/2008 (the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC).
For work in nuclear perimeters (Dukovany + Temelín) the Nuclear Act 263/2016 Sb. applies plus SÚJB decrees (Státní úřad pro jadernou bezpečnost) — the parallel of Slovak ÚJD SR.
Posted Workers — the simplest process
For a Slovak supplier in Czechia, the posted-worker process is the simplest of all EU countries:
1. A1 from Slovak Social Insurance (same as for other countries) 2. Notification of the posted worker to the ÚP ČR (Czech Labour Office) — 14 days before work begins 3. For construction and trade work, additional notification to the General Financial Directorate (VAT reverse-charge mechanism under § 92e of the VAT Act)
Pay must meet at least the Czech minimum wage (currently CZK 18,900/month from 1 January 2025, tied to annual increases) plus collective-agreement premiums for the relevant sector (KOLD — Konfederace odborových svazů for major industries).
The cross-border accounting side is trivial — VAT reverse charge via § 92e ZDPH, we issue invoices without VAT marked "daň odvede zákazník" or "reverse-charge". For unestablished clients in CZ we invoice with Slovak VAT at 20%.
The strongest Czech industrial clusters
**Prague + Central Bohemia** — Škoda Auto Mladá Boleslav (the region's dominant employer), Toyota Kolín (TPCA), Lego Production Kladno, Honeywell Praha (industrial automation + R&D). Prague itself is an IT services hub comparable to Bratislava and Bucharest — Avast/Gen Digital, ČSOB technologies, Microsoft Development Centre Prague.
**Pilsen Region** — Doosan Škoda Power (turbines for thermal and nuclear plants), Škoda Transportation (train sets + trolleybuses), Pilsner Urquell. The classic Czech engineering cluster with a tradition from the Škoda Pilsen era.
**Moravian-Silesian Region** — Liberty Ostrava steel mill, Tatra Trucks Kopřivnice (especially heavy military vehicles), Hyundai Nošovice (HMMC — Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech). Czechia's industrial heart with direct geographic continuity to the Slovak Žilina and Kysuce districts.
**Hradec Králové + Pardubice regions** — Škoda Auto Kvasiny (Kodiaq, Superb iV), Foxconn Pardubice (the largest electronic assembly in CZ), Bosch Diesel Jihlava (the largest Bosch plant in CZ — common-rail systems).
**South Bohemia** — Bosch České Budějovice (injection systems), ČEZ Temelín (2 VVER-1000 reactors), Madeta dairy.
Our commuting relationship
From Prešov to Prague is 6.5 hours' drive, to Brno 4 hours, to Ostrava 3 hours, to Pilsen 7.5 hours. North Moravia (Ostrava, Olomouc, Zlín) is effectively our extended commuting zone — for these locations we operate on a two-day rhythm without needing overnight stays.
For Prague and West Bohemia (Pilsen, Karlovy Vary) we maintain Monday-to-Friday mode with overnight stays.
Where it pays to ask us in Czechia
Software and IT services — we have a verifiable project (ecommerce-headless-replatform Prague) and are actively working for IT clients. Data centres and AI compute — we have references from Bucharest and Cluj that are technologically comparable to Prague data centres. Automotive supplier orbit around Škoda Mladá Boleslav, Kvasiny and HMMC Nošovice — we have active work via the Slovak supplier orbit of JLR Nitra and Kia Žilina, which naturally extends into CZ.
For core nuclear equipment (Dukovany, Temelín in the active zone) long-standing Czech firms with SÚJB certification are sought first and we have no primary reference in the nuclear perimeter.
