The Prešov Region is our home base. MP Industrial Solutions' registered office is in Skrabské, 35 km north-west of Prešov city centre, in the Vranov nad Topľou district. For Prešov as a city and the whole region we have the strongest response — we can be on site within an hour, documentation for most projects is prepared in Slovak original in natural Slovak (no translation noise), and communication with authorities (ÚIK Prešov, regional SOI, the regional building authority) happens with people we know personally. That's an advantage we don't have in other regions.
Spinea and robotics in Prešov
Spinea is the best-known high-tech company in Prešov and in Slovakia generally — manufacturer of cycloidal gearboxes for industrial robotics with its own R&D department. Cycloidal gearboxes (TwinSpin) are an alternative to classic harmonic gearboxes (Harmonic Drive), with higher torque capacity and longer life at the same weight. That means Spinea competes directly with Japanese and Swiss manufacturers in a segment where no Slovak supplier otherwise has a voice.
For us Spinea is interesting as a client for production-capacity expansions — when a new generation of gearboxes is introduced, production lines need adjusting, new measurement equipment needs integrating, test benches need outfitting. We work here through regular updates to existing infrastructure.
Tatravagónka Poprad and railway manufacturing
Tatravagónka Poprad (formally in the Poprad district, which falls under the Prešov Region) is a long-standing manufacturer of freight railcars and bogies. The plant supplies German, Austrian, Swiss and French railway operators, which means compliance with UIC standards (Union Internationale des Chemins de fer), TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) for the EU interoperable rail system, and IRIS Rev. 3 (International Railway Industry Standard, specific to the sector above ISO 9001).
For an integrator that means strict auditability of every technical element — assembly processes must be documented to a depth that will pass an EU-rail Notified Body (NoBo), and network connections of production lines must meet TSI Telematics Applications. Our work here moves from standard industrial integration into the regulated transport domain.
The Vihorlat cluster — Snina, Humenné, Vranov
The eastern edges of the region have their own engineering cluster with roots from the VHJ Vihorlat era (1960s–1980s). Today they're small and medium enterprises in Snina, Humenné, Vranov nad Topľou specialising in pneumatic and hydraulic components, special machinery, boiler structures. For us these are geographically the closest clients — some are within 30 km of our base in Skrabské.
Bukocel in Hencovce (Vranov nad Topľou) is one of Slovakia's largest pulp mills, a sister plant to Mondi SCP Ružomberok. For boiler retrofits, steam turbines, boilerhouse electrical installation — a regular contract that doesn't require a distant site visit.
Hall construction and brownfield refits
The Prešov Region is seeing visible expansion of industrial parks this decade: Park 24 Vranov, Šariš Capital Park, the Prešov Industrial Park. These new brownfield projects need full-scope electrical installation of new halls — from the substation, through fibre-optic backbone to administrative buildings, to compressor-room and HVAC connections. Here we work at the level of general contractor for electrical and IT infrastructure.
Our commuting relationship
No other area is this close. For Prešov city the commute is 30 minutes by car, for Vranov nad Topľou (where our Skrabské base sits) 0 minutes, for Humenné and Snina 45 to 60 minutes, for Poprad 90 minutes. For most contracts in the Prešov Region we work one-day site visits with a mandatory morning arrival.
For inspection work, a quick site visit, project approval, or addressing a breakdown we're available with a standard 24-hour response. For official communication (ÚIK Prešov, the building authority) we have direct contacts.
Which pillars fit best
For Spinea and similar high-tech firms — **Industry + Automation** with focus on special machines and test benches. The advantage here is personal proximity — we can respond to spec changes in days, not weeks.
For Tatravagónka and railway suppliers — **Electro + Automation** with focus on EU rail standards. NoBo audit-friendly documentation, integration into existing UIC control systems.
For Bukocel and the pulp-and-paper industry — **Electro + Industry** with focus on boiler retrofits and energy expansions. We work here with 22 kV high voltage, steam systems and ATEX zones around chemical stores.
For the Vihorlat cluster and mid-sized firms — **Electro + Industry** in broad scope. For these firms we're often a multi-year technical partner who can do everything from project documentation to the inspection report under one roof.
For new brownfield development — **the full stack of all six pillars**. General-contractor electrical and IT infrastructure deliveries combine here with automation and smart-building elements for administrative areas.
Conclusion
The Prešov Region isn't just an address. It's the place where we work every week, where we have direct contacts at the authorities, and where even a complicated contract gets resolved faster than anywhere else. Here we're not a "remote supplier" — we're a local firm that knows every district of its own region.
