Opole is the capital of Opolskie — Poland's smallest voivodship by population. Industrially the region is concentrated around cement, coal energy and the chemical industry, plus parallel transport geography for the A4 transit from Berlin to Krakow/Katowice.
Cementownia Górażdże — Poland's largest cement plant
Cementownia Górażdże (since 1993 part of Heidelberg Materials, previously HeidelbergCement) in Chorula (5 km from Opole) is Poland's largest cement plant with annual production over 2.4 million tonnes. For an integrator it's a process industry with typical traits of cement production — high-temperature zones (rotary kiln at 1,450 °C), dust ATEX zones 20/21/22 (cement and lime dust), pressure equipment (mandatory UDT), and complex process automation via Siemens PCS 7 or ABB 800xA distributed control systems.
ATEX zones for dust are key here — STN EN 60079 (parallel PN-EN 60079) classification 20/21/22 for dust environments, intrinsically safe equipment, and complex explosion-protection design. Our specialisation in ATEX installation fits without major competence transfer.
The UDT process is mandatory here for rotary kilns, pressure vessels, cement silos, and lifting equipment. UDT Oddział Opole is the primary partner.
PGE Elektrownia Opole — coal power plant
PGE Elektrownia Opole is one of Poland's largest coal power plants — after the expansion of blocks 5 and 6 in 2019 it has a total installed capacity of 3,332 MW. For an integrator it's classic power infrastructure with a high-voltage substation (400 kV output to PSE Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne grid), steam turbines (mandatory UDT for pressure equipment), and complex MES + DCS integration.
After EU Green Deal commitments and the gradual phase-out of coal energy, PGE Elektrownia Opole is in a multi-year process — alongside operating the new blocks 5 and 6, preparations are underway for gradual transformation (biomass co-firing, possibly hydrogen blend). For an integrator that means continuous demand for monitoring modernisation, maintenance of control systems, and parallel infrastructure for transformation projects.
Multiserwis Opole — steel service
Multiserwis in the Opolskie region provides service and maintenance services for the steel industry. For an integrator it's a subcontractor segment where partnerships for ATEX projects or parallel electrical installation may open up.
ICSO Blachownia — chemical industry
ICSO (Instytut Ciężkiej Syntezy Organicznej) Blachownia in Kędzierzyn-Koźle (40 km south of Opole) is a production-research chemical complex for organic synthesis. For an integrator it's a process chemical industry with ATEX zones (organic solvents), pressure reactor systems (mandatory UDT), and the Seveso III directive for some chemical zones.
Polmos Opole — distillery
Polmos Opole is a traditional Polish distillery in the Opolskie region. For an integrator it's a process industry with pressure equipment (brew kettles, distillation columns) and mandatory UDT certification — the parallel of our Heineken/Polmos Łańcut profiles.
Our commuting relationship
From Prešov 5 hours by car via D1, A4 and A1 — comparable to Wrocław or Poznań. For Opole we work Monday-to-Friday mode with accommodation for longer projects.
Conclusion
Opolskie is for us a moderately distant PL market with several technically interesting clients — notably Cementownia Górażdże (cement ATEX competence), PGE Elektrownia Opole (coal energy in transformation), and ICSO Blachownia (chemical process industry). Actively looking for the first client via these segments.
