Lublin is 4 hours from Prešov via S19 — the second-closest Polish regional capital after Rzeszów. Lubelskie as a region doesn't yet have strong industrial concentration (no global automotive plants, no gigafactory), but has several mid-sized clients with technical needs within a scope realistically feasible for us.
Astor Lublin and industrial automation
Astor with a branch in Lublin is the largest Polish distributor of industrial automation — the official B&R Automation distributor for PL, plus Mitsubishi Electric, Wonderware (AVEVA), GE Digital. For an integrator Astor is interesting through two vectors: on one hand as a technology partner (when we design a PLC solution via B&R or SCADA via Wonderware InTouch, Astor Lublin is often the source of technical support and service contracts in eastern PL), and on the other hand as a client (Astor is building its own IT infrastructure for demo centres and training stands, where smaller integrator contracts open up).
Aliplast Lublin — aluminium profiles
Aliplast Lublin produces aluminium profiles for windows, doors and façade systems — extrusion, surface treatment (anodising + powder coating), and a logistics distribution centre. For an integrator it's a process industry with typical traits: high-temperature zones (extrusion at 450–500 °C), pressure equipment for hydraulic presses (mandatory UDT), and complex logistics automation for long aluminium profiles (heavy-lift logistics, conveyor systems via Bosch Rexroth or Interroll).
Polski Cukier Lublin — sugar industry
Polski Cukier operates in Lublin and surrounding Krasnystaw sugar factories — seasonal operation with strong concentration of pressure equipment (brewers, evaporators, centrifuges) and a chemical-process layer (lime milk, sulphur dioxide). For an integrator it's a food process segment with mandatory UDT certification for pressure vessels and the Seveso III directive for some chemical zones.
The UDT process is intense here — every cooker, every evaporator, every pressure vessel requires UDT certification via UDT Oddział Lublin. For a Slovak supplier that means pre-contract verification via a certified UDT-rzeczoznawca.
Janex Lublin + Boryszew Automotive Plastics
Janex Lublin (food automation) and Boryszew Automotive Plastics (plastic automotive parts) are mid-sized clients where integrator contracts may open up via new production lines, MES upgrades, or robotic integration.
Our commuting relationship
From Prešov 4 hours via S19 — realistically a one-day trip with a return for dinner, or Monday-to-Friday mode with accommodation for longer projects. Geographically Lublin is for us the second-closest PL voivodship node after Rzeszów.
Conclusion
Lubelskie is for us a moderately attractive PL market — geographically close, but with lower industrial concentration. Actively looking for the first client via Astor (technology partner or demo centre) or via the Aliplast/Polski Cukier process segment. For Lubelskie we're effectively local via the 4-hour commute.
