Zaragoza is for us in Aragón the dominant industrial node — Stellantis Zaragoza Figueruelas (Opel Corsa, Mokka, Combo), BSH Electrodomésticos (Bosch+Siemens fridges) and Saica Group (global leader in recycled paper). From Prešov it's a 3.5-hour flight via VIE or FRA to ZAZ Zaragoza, or with a stopover via MAD/BCN. We have no overland commute — Aragón is exclusively an air market.
Stellantis Figueruelas — Spain's largest Stellantis plant
Stellantis Zaragoza Figueruelas (20 km north-east of the centre) is the largest car plant of the Stellantis group in Spain — production of Opel Corsa, Opel Mokka and Opel Combo with annual production around 400,000 vehicles. After PSA Group's merger with FCA into Stellantis, the plant became part of the global Stellantis network with its own Quality Operating System.
For an integrator with automotive Tier-1 experience, Stellantis is the same category as VW Group Bratislava or SEAT Martorell — Stellantis Production Way (SPW) with strict audit geography, ESI (Effective Supplier Integration) process for new tooling install, and internal SCB (Stellantis Capability Building) onboarding for new suppliers.
Our delivered `automotive-injection-line` project (Bratislava, 2024) — Engel, KraussMaffei and Yushin injection line under Siemens TIA Portal — is a directly transferable type of work. For upcoming EV models (Opel Mokka Electric, Opel Combo Electric), battery handling and high-voltage zones are added.
BSH Electrodomésticos — fridges for the EU
BSH Zaragoza (Bosch+Siemens Hausgeräte) produces refrigerators and freezers for the whole EU. For an integrator the segment is similar to Embraco/Nidec Košice — high quality of final brazing (R600a and R290 refrigerant leaks are a safety problem — propane is flammable), pressure testing of every compressor, integration of AOI / X-ray inspection for brazed joints, MES tracking of every unit produced.
For us BSH is interesting through automation of final QC and leak detection at parts-per-million level. That's exactly the segment where we're directly deliverable.
Saica Group — global leader in recycled paper
Saica Group HQ in Zaragoza is a global leader in recycled paper and packaging — own paper mills (Saica Paper), corrugated cardboard production (Saica Pack), collection and recycling (Saica Natur), flexible packaging division (Saica Flex). For an integrator Saica is interesting via a combination of process automation (paper mills are continuous process operations with their own regulatory geography for moisture and pressure systems) and logistics (Saica Natur operates its own fleet for old-paper collection).
In paper mills a strict ATEX regime applies for dust environments (zone 20/21/22), comparable to the coke plant at U. S. Steel Košice. For us the relevant segment is Saica Pack and Saica Flex — packaging lines, RFID tagging, integration of automated warehouses.
Pikolin, Schindler Zaragoza
Pikolin Zaragoza is the second-largest mattress manufacturer in the EU — production lines for foam, pocket springs and smart mattresses. Schindler Zaragoza is lift production for the entire Schindler Group. For us both are categories of process automation and robotic-cell integration.
Regulatory framework — Aragón
Aragón operates under the national REBT (RD 842/2002), UNE-HD 60364 and UNE-EN 60204-1. Gobierno de Aragón adds a regional authorisation layer via the Departamento de Industria, Competitividad y Desarrollo Empresarial — equipment registration via Boletín Oficial Aragón. For building permits CTE plus regional implementing decree.
For the paper and packaging segment additionally ITC-BT for dust ATEX zones (zone 20/21/22) plus internal Saica Quality Management System. For Stellantis SPW (Stellantis Production Way) dominates as the documentation layer above the national REBT.

For Stellantis Figueruelas and the automotive supplier orbit — **Industry + Automation + Electro**. Sondermaschinenbau, robotic-cell integration, EV battery handling. The SPW documentation layer is stricter than VW Konzernstandard in some respects — for us it's another type of Tier-1 audit challenge we're preparing for.

Conclusion
In Zaragoza we're in an active acquisition phase. Stellantis Figueruelas and BSH we consider primary opened segments — exactly transferable work from the Bratislava automotive reference and from the neighbouring Embraco/Nidec experience in Košice. For the first Aragón client we're ready with a rolling-team regime.
