Logroño is for us in La Rioja a specific smaller market — historically a wine region (Marqués de Riscal, Faustino, Campo Viejo, Muga, Federico Paternina), but with a developed industrial base in packaging and spirits (Pernod Ricard Bodegas Beam, Saica Pack Logroño, Smurfit Kappa Nervión). From Prešov it's a 4-hour flight via VIE or FRA to BIO Bilbao (170 km by car to Logroño) or MAD (330 km by car). RJL Logroño airport is domestic with limited connections. We have no overland commute.
Wine cluster — Bodegas La Rioja
La Rioja is the best-known wine region in Spain — DOC (Denominación de Origen Calificada) status with its own regulatory geography for vinification. The best-known brands:

Pernod Ricard Bodegas Beam — spirits and gin
Pernod Ricard has Bodegas Beam in Logroño — distillery for Beefeater gin and other premium brands. For an integrator the distillery operation is a combination of ATEX zones (ethanol is extremely flammable, zone 0/1/2 for distillation columns) and process production with strict HACCP and SIL-2/3 hazard analysis.
For us Pernod Ricard is a segment similar to petrochemical work — ATEX, intrinsically safe equipment, EPL Gb/Db rating. The Bratislava Slovnaft experience is transferable in the base competence layer, but the operational context (food, not petrochemical) requires its own two-step audit.
Saica Pack Logroño, Smurfit Kappa Nervión
Saica Pack Logroño (complementary plant to the HQ in Zaragoza) is a producer of paper packaging for food industry and wine. For an integrator the same type of work as Saica Group Zaragoza — packaging lines, ATEX dust zones (zone 21/22), integration of automated warehouses.
Smurfit Kappa Nervión (neighbouring location) is a producer of paperboard and packaging — global supplier of the Kappa group. For us a direct supplier category via Industry + Automation.
Calzados Logroño — footwear industry
La Rioja has a historic footwear tradition — Calzados Logroño and smaller production sites produce shoes for Central European retail. For an integrator the segment is smaller in volume, but with its own specificity — automated final QC (visual inspection of stitches and assembly), RFID tagging for supply chain traceability.
Regulatory framework — La Rioja
La Rioja operates under the national REBT (RD 842/2002), UNE-HD 60364, UNE-EN 60204-1 and ATEX transposition via RD 144/2016. **Gobierno de La Rioja** adds a regional authorisation layer via Consejería de Hacienda, Hipoteca y Economía.
For the wine industry **DOC La Rioja** specific regulation is added — Consejo Regulador maintains its own certification and tracking system for every wine batch. For an integrator that means MES systems in bodegas must be compatible with DOC tracking requirements.

For Logroño we work exclusively by air. The most practical access is via BIO Bilbao (170 km by car, 1h 45min) or PNA Pamplona (95 km by car, 1h 10min). RJL Logroño airport has limited connections, notably domestic.

In Logroño we're in an active acquisition phase. La Rioja is for us a smaller specialised market — without a delivered Riojan project we don't yet have a local name, but transferable competencies from the Košice packaging-relocation reference and the Bratislava ATEX experience are ready. For the first client in La Rioja we're ready with a rolling-team regime with three-week rotation.
